Dave is an experienced theatre-maker, and regularly devises thought-provoking and challenging performances with young people across Yorkshire and the Humber. He writes and directs plays with community groups and focuses his practice on the inclusive process of co-creation.
Dave is a trained dramatist with 16 years' background in secondary Drama teaching. He was awarded his Advanced Skills Teacher status in 2012 and trained ITT Drama students as an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
Dave is an Associate with IVE - Arts Council England's 'bridge' organisation for Yorkshire and the Humber. He has spent the last 4 years leading action research programmes across 40 schools, exploring how the arts increases engagement and attainment across the board.
He works with multiple partners in both Rotherham and North Lincolnshire to develop the arts offer to young people at a strategic level. He also leads the CLE programme for IVE - developing tomorrow's school leaders through partnerships with some of the leading players in the arts and cultural sector.
Finally, Dave works closely with a number of other exceptional artists to deliver arts festivals in 'hard to reach' communities.
